When it comes to choosing a planner for yourself or as a gift for someone else, you should know that there are different styles and sizes available.

A planner is going to have a cover of some sort. That cover can be a soft style cover which means that it is usually made from a stiff type of paper allowing it to be bendable. Softcover planners come in small pocket sizes or sizes that are more like a book which are typically 8 inches by 5 1/2 inches. Some sizing will vary between manufacturers but for the most part they are pretty standard in size.

There are also planners that have a hard cover. That means that the cover is strong like a hardcover book would be, usually reinforced with cardboard for a more rigid covering. They can be pocket size or larger.

Obviously a pocket planner is small enough to fit in a pocket, purse or backpack. It usually covers two years and have only minimal room for notes.

Engagement Calendars are usually weekly or daily planners.
